BELLE Vue will face their toughest test of the campaign on Monday, August 8 in a battle of the Premiership’s top two teams at the National Speedway Stadium.

The business end of the season is on the horizon, and the Ipswich Witches have brought in reinforcements to take on the powerful ATPI Aces at home.

They have called on ex-Belle Vue rider Rohan Tungate as an Injury Rider Replacement for Erik Riss and Aaron Summers comes in to replace the suspended Ben Barker; subject to BSP approval.

The ATPI Aces meanwhile seem well settled in the Premiership top four as it stands, but they will only settle for a perfect record on home shale, especially against the league leaders.

On their last visit to Manchester, it was a slightly depleted ATPI Aces side that triumphed 48-42 in the end to secure three big points over their closest rivals.

And now at full strength, and with every other top flight club in action on Monday night, this match could prove their most significant result to date.

Club No.4 Charles Wright said: “Ipswich aren’t top of the table for nothing and with the way they’ve strengthened up theirs will be a different team dynamic to the one we previously met.

“I raced with Rohan [Tungate] in my Somerset and Peterborough days. He’s a quick rider who knows his way around our track so we’ll need to be strong from the get-go on Monday.

“But we know we can win against Ipswich. We have done it before, they’ve only made two changes and we’re pretty confident at home, so it’ll be an exciting night for sure.

“We’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing. The main thing is to keep winning at home and we are fully aware that other teams are nervous about coming to Manchester.

“That’s a good feeling to have, especially at this stage. But we’re not getting ahead of ourselves. There’s still a job to do, we just need to finish in style.”

The ATPI Aces meet the Ipswich Witches in battle in Manchester on Monday, August 8 at 7:30pm in perhaps their sternest test to date.

And fans will have a rare opportunity to have their photos taken with the prestigious Speedway of Nations Trophy, which will be on display for the press conference in the Peter Craven Suite.

Meeting tickets, hospitality, Race Day programmes and stadium parking can be reserved now online at bellevue-speedway.com; hospitality bookings close 12 noon on Race Day.
