A Manchester Councillor has launched a petition to stop the closure of a number of post offices in the region
Post Offices say Andrew Simcock who represents Didsbury are at the heart of the community. That’s why the proposed closure of the post offices in Didsbury, Harpurhey and Manchester must be stopped.
The post offices are critical parts of the infrastructure in local communities providing banking facilities, postal services and offering a wide range of advice services.
If these locations close residents will have to travel further to other offices which are often already overstretched.
Last week the Post office announced the closure of over 100 post offices with the loss of hundreds of jobs
