The Manchester based Co-op has reveals that customers personal files were accessed during the cyber attack which the retailer is currently dealing with
In a statement the Company said cyber criminals have managed to extract customer data including names, date of births and contact details.
It stressed that the information accessed was not bank details or transaction history and is working with the NCSC and NCA to solve the problem but says malicious attack on systems still ongoing
The attacks over the past few days have forced the retailer to shut down some of its operations to block the criminals
