The squad has donated to the Club’s charity, City in the Community, to support children in  Greater Manchester during the school holidays throughout the 2025/26 season.

Hundreds of young people who access free school meals will be able to enjoy over 400 hours of  community football sessions, alongside a healthy hot meal, at zero cost.

The donation helps to ensure that City in the Community can sustain its free Soccer Schools  initiative across East Manchester, Moss Side and Wythenshawe.

To learn more about how their donation will impact local young people, four Manchester City players including Rico Lewis made an appearance at this summer’s Soccer School session in Moss Side.

Speaking at his visit, Lewis said:

“Growing up in Manchester, I know how important it is for young people to have safe places to  play football, especially during the school holidays.

“It’s great to see the charity supporting local kids with free sessions and healthy meals, and I’m  proud to be part of something that makes such a difference in the community.”

City in the Community CEO, Mike Geary, added:

“We are very grateful to the players for their generous support of City in the Community.

“These sessions are about much more than football – they create safe, supportive spaces where  children can grow in confidence, make friends and learn important life skills.

“On behalf of everyone at CITC, I’d like to thank the squad for helping us continue to make a real  difference in the lives of young Mancunians.”

Soccer School sessions are also adapted to include educational and supportive workshops to  highlight important topics such as mental health and anti-bullying.
