Lee McAteer, co-director of Invasion Group has announced that he is selling the company, eleven years after launching the business.

McAteer launched the business with fellow Leeds University Law School graduate, Nick Steiert when just 24 and has since grown the business exceptionally.

Invasion, which includes brands such as Camp Thailand, Invasion.com, Camp Cambodia, Wresting Travel and AmeriCamp, employs over 40 staff and has touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people around the world. It is also a delivery partner for the National Citizen Service (NCS).

It has been announced that Invasion has been acquired by Intrax, a U.S. Department of State designated J-1 Visa Sponsor and world leader in international exchange programs.

McAteer, said: “Together, Invasion Camp Group and Intrax will not only continue to deliver outstanding cultural exchange and life changing opportunities, but it will be on a scale that has never been seen before.

“Building the Invasion portfolio to include such life-changing brands, enabling us to impact so many people, has surpassed my wildest dreams.”

McAteer will continue to help the business transition from the old ownership to the new.
