The Brand New Heavies are to perform in Manchester to raise money for the region’s most vulnerable women, it was announced today.

The acid jazz and funk legends will play a specially chosen selection of their chart hits at women’s charity Elle for Elle’s annual ball, slated for September 13 at Emirates Old Trafford.

The ball will this year adopt a ‘Midnight at the Oasis’ theme, looking to bring Moroccan glamour to Manchester.

Elle for Elle’s annual ball will indulge the senses in an authentic night of Moroccan festivity – inspired by the souks of Marrakech, and including a tantalising three course Moroccan food feast plus a night packed full of entertainment.

With the special performance from The Brand New Heavies, a star raffle and a prize of a lifetime auction all taking place on the evening, the night is set to be spectacular.

Elle for Elle founder Rachel O’Hare said, ‘We are really excited about our Elle for Elle ‘Midnight at the Oasis’ ball. We are committed to raising funds to help those women in refuges maintain some dignity after escaping an abusive partner. By hosting such a large event we are able to continue our fundraising mission and make a real difference to those women in need.”

Elle for Elle is a charitable foundation dedicated to helping women and girls who have been brave enough to escape abusive relationships and moving into refuges.

‘Dignity after Distress, Elle for Elle’s main campaign, aims to help vulnerable women maintain dignity by keeping the bathrooms and cupboards of refuges stocked with beauty products as well as providing beauty days for women to enjoy.

Elle for Elle also looks to provide women with qualifications and skills in beauty to ensure they have the opportunity to work within salons or for themselves after leaving refuges.

Recently receiving praise in Westminster for giving the nation’s most vulnerable women ‘moments of dignity’, Elle for Elle aims to raise awareness for the plight of 3,660 women housed in women’s refuges throughout the UK.

All funds raised on the evening will be donated directly to the Elle for Elle charity.

Tickets can be purchased through the Elle for Elle website.
