Bolton North East Tory MP Mark Logan has announced that he is stepping down and will be joining the Labour Party
Logan is the fifth Tory MP in the region to announce he is leaving Parliament
Elected as part of the so called demolition of the Red Wall in 2019, Logan told the BBC that Labour could “bring back optimism into British life”.
He has applied to join the Labour Party but Labour already has a candidate to stand in the Bolton seat
Logan who was a Brexiteer told the BBC in an exclusive interview that the Tory Party was now “unrecognisable” from the party he joined a decade ago.
He also criticised what he called the abysmal government record on Gaza.
Two weeks ago, Logan announced he would compete with Lib Dem MP Alistair Carmichael as to who could take a Palestinian “refugee” into their home first
