Local independent business, Blanchflower Coffee and Bakery, has confirmed its new Trafford Centre site will open on Friday 4 April.
Founded by Phil and Claire Howells, this homegrown family-business with restaurants in Sale and Altrincham will open its third site at Trafford Centre in the new Eastern Garden development. Summarised by their ethos ‘Everything Made In House’, Blanchflower champions handmade, small batch production and is truly independent at its core.
Blanchflower’s in-house bakery team of bakers and pastry chefs, located just around the corner in Sale, will freshly prepare a mouthwatering selection of seasonal items made from locally sourced ingredients. The menu will include both breakfast and lunch options, including cakes, sandwiches, salads, soups, granola and pastries.
Blanchflower’s renowned coffee comes from local roaster Blossom, and along with house-made syrups and cordials creates a modern and unique café menu – including espresso drinks, chai and matcha lattes, and hot chocolate made using the same Belgian chocolate used in their cakes.
Guests can choose to take their items away as a takeaway option or dine inside.
Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, said: “As a homegrown local business, Blanchflower is a very welcome addition to our new Eastern Garden dining development here at Trafford Centre. It’s a pleasure to welcome a business that is so passionate about the produce that they serve, as we celebrate the innovation and quality that can be found right here in our region.”
Phil Howells, co-owner of Blanchflower, added: “Since our journey running cafes in Manchester started in 2012, we’ve wanted to share our love of great coffee and food with as wide an audience as possible, so we’re really excited to reach Trafford Centre’s huge volume of visitors. It’s a real vote of confidence that such a large Manchester institution is backing an independent and local business like ours and we can’t wait to get stuck in.”
