Backyard Cinema offers an immersive cinema experience that is more than just the movies and is heading to Manchester

Perfect for movie-lovers and adventure-seekers, Backyard Cinema offers an immersive cinema experience that is more than just the movies. Heading to Manchester for their very first event outside of London, Backyard Cinema will open a purpose-built, 330-capacity, indoor cinema for a limited run this Autumn/Winter.

Opening from Friday 21st October, the Autumn/Winter programming will showcase a mixture of brand-new releases such as ELVIS (2022), Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022), Top Gun: Maverick (2022), The Batman (2022), cult classics including E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Die Hard (1988), Hocus Pocus (1993), Addams Family Values (1993), Beetlejuice (1988), and other favourites such as The Greatest Showman (2017), Frozen 2 (2019), Beauty and the Beast (2017) and more.

As we draw in closer to Christmas time, Backyard Cinema will showcase a series of all-time favourite and classic films from Wednesday 16th November. The Christmas specials include Elf (2003), Home Alone (1990), Love Actually (2003), The Holiday (2006), How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), Miracle on 34th Street (1947) and more.

Audiences can expect to be transported on a magical journey to a cinema like no other. Having to make choices as visitors explore movie-grade sets, through tunnels of trees, magical doors to eventually discover the Enchanted Forest and home of the Lost Theatre.

The screening room will be filled with custom-made giant bean bag seating for guests to get cosied up in with ushers serving seasonal cocktails and sweet treats to create the most magical place to watch a movie.

Backyard Cinema Manchester is open from Wednesday to Sunday, from 21st October until 4th December, and from Monday to Sunday, from 5th December until 2nd January. Backyard Cinema Manchester will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 27th December, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Show times are 12:00, 16:00, and 20:00 – and it varies each day.
