Manchester-based creative agency FJC recorded a 50 per cent growth in revenue from animation projects in 2021, making animation a significant part of its creative services.
The agency delivered over 25 animations for projects across its portfolio of clients throughout the year, creating around 100 minutes of creative content.
Vick Fagan, founder and MD of FJC, said: “Animation has been the medium of choice for many, many businesses this year. What was already a rapidly growing service has now reached incredible levels and we now find that around 35 per cent of our work projects at any one time are animation based.
“As businesses sought to communicate with numerous and changing audiences during the second year of pandemic living, animation was a natural way forward. Not only does it allow for complex messages to be shared quickly, but it can also add humour, entertainment and deliver incredibly engaging messages without labouring the point.
“I love animations because we can take the audience anywhere and on any journey – your imagination can run riot! It is also a really safe way of working, especially when coronavirus restrictions are in place, as it doesn’t require groups of people to congregate in one place, like filming does, which helped make it an attractive option for businesses last year.”
FJC delivered animation projects for Co-op, TK Maxx, Rowlands Pharmacy, Numark, Creative Carpark, DB Cargo and more during 2021 and has commissions for numerous brands already in 2022. Vicky added: “We are now booking in ‘series’ of animations for clients where we create a number of animations in one production run that our clients then use throughout the year.”
The agency, based at Little Lever Street in the Northern Quarter, also offers brand campaigns, video production, graphic design, strategic support and event management as part of its service offering.
