Abdalraouf Abdallah said to be childhood friend of the Manchester Arena bomber has been denied parole after a four day hearing but will be released as required by law at the end of his sentence without any furthere reference to the board
Abdalraouf now 31 was jailed for nine and half years back in 2014 for terrorism offences, He was released in 2020 but recalled to prison the following year after having made alleged threats and misconduct
The panel said that he remained a threat posing a high risk of harm to the general public and had continued a moderate engagement with extremism and terrorist related activities
The panel also said that Abdallah had not generally changed his extremist mindset or his abilty to radicalise others in its reasonings
The Manchester Arena Inquiry had found that he had played a role in the radicalisation of the suivide bomber but had not played a part in the attack itself
He will remain in custody until November 2024 when he will have reached the end of his sentence
