A new charitable project is appealing for donations of smart office wear as it prepares to unveil a new service for job seekers.
When it launches in the summer, Working Wardrobe will support Trafford residents who are currently unemployed with the clothes and the confidence they need to be interview ready. Groundwork Greater Manchester, the charity delivering the project, is looking for donations now in preparation for launch day.
The project is being supported by Trafford Housing Trust, which has provided a grant of over £85,000.
Venetia Knight, Head of Employment & Enterprise at Groundwork Greater Manchester, said: “We know from experience that first impressions really do count at interviews, so we have established Working Wardrobe to provide a tailor-made service, giving people the outfit and confidence they need to get the job they deserve.
“As well as the clothes and personal styling, our Working Wardrobe Project Officer will provide bespoke advice for each person to help them prepare for their interview.
“We would be really grateful if businesses and individuals could donate quality office-wear, including shoes, accessories and coat hangers, to help us provide this much needed service and help local people secure employment.”
