On Saturday 24th August 2024 at 8am, B&M were proud to unveil their newly revamped store North City Shopping Centre, Harpurhey which has been gradually expanding over the last couple of months.

Following feedback from regular customers that said they wanted a bigger shop and even more products; the store team have been transforming the shop. The new store is much bigger than the previous with the sales floor measuring over 29,808sqft. offering customers a bigger range of products across all departments.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Manchester Central Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Manchester Central Foodbank was founded in 2013 and distributed 10,358 three-day emergency food supplies given to people in crisis in 2022/2023. They are passionate about tackling food poverty and making sure that those in the local community experiencing food poverty are supported. They don’t believe that anyone in the community should have to face going hungry, this is why they provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to those in crisis.

The store manager at Harpurhey said: “It was really exciting to welcome customers through the doors; the feedback so far has been fantastic.”

The store manager also commented: “A big thank you to the team at the Manchester Central Foodbank charity who helped us open the store; we hope that our donation can help them to continue to do the great work they do.”
