If you are travelling to Greece this summer, the Foreign Office have issued advice today as the Greek authorities will from 7th April carrying out additional passport checks for Brits coming into Greece.

The information says that the police:

“will begin implementing systematic passport control checks for all European citizens travelling to/from destinations outside the Schengen area (including the UK) in line with a 2017 Schengen Borders Code regulation; increased waiting times at passport control are possible on departure from and arrival into Greece; you should ensure you arrive at the airport in good time

This is not a Brexit issue but applies to all countries that have not signed up to the Schengen border controls agreement and will also apply to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Ireland and Romania
