There is major disruption in Manchester City Centre this afternoon after what appears to be a head on crash between a tram and a bus on Mosley Street as it turns onto Piccadilly Gardens

An air ambulance landed earlier in the gardens and it has been reported that there has been four casualties,one serious from the incident

A statement from the NW Ambulance Service said

“Three ambulance crews, a consultant paramedic, a senior paramedic, a critical care team in an air ambulance and the Hazardous Area Response Team have all attended. Four patients are being treated, one with suspected serious injuries.”

“Due to a road traffic collision on Mosley Street, bus and tram services in the city centre are disrupted.” the Bee Network has tweeted

Trams are currently unable to serve Piccadilly Gardens, Market Street and Shudehill Metrolink stops

Piccadilly Bus Gardens station is shut with all services using the the parker street station will use Chorlton Street until further notice.
