A woman pedestrian in her 30s – sustained serious life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital for treatment after being hit by a car in Bury last night

The incident happened on Manchester Road around 9.30

The driver of the Peugeot 208- a woman in her 50s – stopped at the scene and was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention and remains in custody.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone or doorbell footage, from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
