A new book has been published this week which tells the whole life story of Holocaust Survivors and Refugees, from Greater Manchester and the Northwest

My Voice is a unique storytelling project which publishes the whole life story of Holocaust Survivors and Refugees, from Greater Manchester and the Northwest – in their own voices.

My Voice is a standalone project (across England) run by The Fed – Manchester’s largest Jewish social care charity.

Manchester University Press are working with The Fed to convert all the existing books (and future titles) into accessible, low-cost paperbacks and eBooks that will be more widely available. 25 titles will publish in 2024.

Meanwhile a launch event is being planned to take place at the John Rylands Research Institute and Library on November 10th – the day after Kristallnacht or the Night of Broken Glass. Details will be announced in due course.

“The My Voice project enables us to hear those voices that lived through things we couldn’t imagine and about what it is to combat hate, to always fight discrimination and champion our common humanity. A truly timeless resources for the people of Greater Manchester and beyond.” says Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester
