U.K. inflation has risen for the first time this year and is now above the Bank of England’s target of 2 per cent

The Office for National Statistics said the headline figure rose to 2.2 per cent in July from 2 per cent in June

The rise,says the ONS, was mainly driven by prices of gas and electricity falling by less than a year ago which was partly offset by hotel costs falling in July
