The Historic Salford pub, The Black Friar is ushering in the spirit of spring with the unveiling of its new Suntory Garden which is now open. 

Collaborating with authentic Japanese spirits brand, House of Suntory, the outdoor tavern has been transformed into a captivating Japanese-inspired cherry blossom garden, just in time for Sakura season.

House of Suntory has worked closely with The Black Friar team to bring their vision of a serene, Japanese-inspired spring garden to life. The ambiance reflects a perfect blend of British charm and Japanese elegance.

House of Suntory has also partnered with the pub to craft an exclusive cocktail menu featuring Suntory’s authentic Japanese spirits – Suntory Haku Vodka, Suntory Roku Gin and Suntory Hibiki Whisky. These specially curated cocktails celebrate the season of new beginnings and showcase the artistry of Japanese mixology.

The new, specially curated, House of Suntory cocktail menu will include a selection of cocktails starting from £12 including the; Coco Roku, a mix of Roku Gin, Blackfriars Pilsner, Honey, Angostura + Lemon; Suntory Spritz a mix ofHaku vodka, watermelon soda, mint, strawberry + lime; and the Zensen Boulevardier, a mix of Toki Whiskey, Campari, Dom Benedictine + Martini Rubino. 

The Suntory Garden will feature a new vibrant a la carte menu, offering enticing options such as Braised Beef Shin Cannelloni; Lamb Shank Kleftiko with moussaka potatoes; Curried line-caught Hake + Red Lentil Dahl and Creedy Carver Duck with confit leg, breast and bubble & squeak. All mains can be complemented with a choice of sides including triple cooked chunky chips, hasselback potato with truffle + chive cream cheese or charred hispi cabbage. The menu will also include daily changing market fish dishes and the renowned Blackfriar daily pie specials.

The specially curated House of Suntory cocktail menu will be available all day, every day, in all areas of the pub. During the exclusive Suntory Sessions, held every Saturday between 3-5 pm with live music, guests can enjoy specialty Suntory drinks at a special price of £8.
