To celebrate Manchester hosting the multi award-winning cultural phenomenon Hamilton for the very first time, the iconic Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is set to host an exhibition of moments both on and off stage.

Open for free to the general public from Tuesday 23rd January 2024, Hamilton: The story of tonight will offer a glimpse into the journey of the musical that has captured the imaginations of audiences around the world.

On show will be 20 photographs, all taken by Hamilton’s production photographer Danny Kaan, from the initial chords struck in the rehearsal room, to the first performance at the Palace Theatre in Manchester. The collection will feature some never-before-seen backstage photographs, alongside rehearsal and production moments.

The exhibition is not to be missed for theatre lovers from or visiting Manchester, and will sit on the walls of Refuge until Thursday 29th February this year. Visitors and hotel guests will get a peek into the world of Hamilton, from rarely seen intricacies of the rehearsal process, to the vibrant energy of backstage life and the immense amount of technical and creative skills involved in creating the seamless final show.

Hamilton producers said: “We are excited to have this opportunity to provide an insight into the processes of staging the UK and Ireland Tour of Hamilton. The exhibition features a timeline from Day One in the rehearsal room, through to the Premiere at Manchester’s Palace Theatre in November 2023. We have been thrilled with the responses this Production has received from the Manchester audiences. We hope that this exhibition will highlight the work from all aspects of the brilliant touring team, who work tirelessly to produce the spectacle enjoyed by past and future audiences.”

David Steel, General Manager of Kimpton Clocktower, said: “We’re proud to be hosting such a unique series of images, making the Hamilton experience in Manchester truly one of a kind. We at Kimpton Clocktower love all things performance arts and theatre so it feels like a great natural fit.”

Hamilton: The story of tonight will be a free to view exhibition on the walls at The Refuge from Tuesday 23rd January until Thursday 29th February 2024.
