MANCHESTER Metropolitan University sport scholar and para swimmer, Tully Kearney, has been named as one of the three final contenders in this year’s BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award on Blue Peter.
Tully, who is in her first year studying BSc (Hons) Physiology, was initially shortlisted for the award following an incredible season and overwhelming success at the IPC Swimming World Championships this summer.
Tully said: “I was amazed when it was announced and feel it’s such an honour to have the opportunity to raise the profile of para sport by making it to the final three of the BBC Young SPOTY.”
The final announcement will be named on Sunday, December 20, at the Sports Personality of the Year ceremony in Belfast.
