A pedestrian, a 70-year-old man remains in hospital today in a critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Halifax Road, Rochdale yesterday afternoon
The driver of the Land Rover, a 29-year-old man, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving.
The man was interviewed by detectives and released under investigation pending further enquiries.
GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
