The 68-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition after being hit by a car while crossing Oldham Road in Miles Plating yesterday.
The driver of the Ford Focus remained at the scene and assisted police with their enquiries.
No arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing.The accident happened around 7.00pm.
Police Constable Phil Drummond of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a particularly nasty collision in which a lady has sustained serious injuries. Our thoughts are with her and her loved ones at this difficult time.
“We are urging anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward and assist police in our enquiries. We’re particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dash cam footage of the white Ford Focus prior to the collision or footage of the collision itself.”
