Police have arrested a 18-year-old man on suspicion of assault following arrest attempts on Herle Drive, Wythenshawe. He remains in police custody.
The arrest follows the stabbing of an 18 year old man and a 17 year old in Longsight on Friday
They were taken to hospital with serious injuries, but they are thankfully not believed to be life threatening or changing.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are continuing to appeal to the public for information or any dash cam footage from the area between 12:00 – 12:30pm on Friday. No matter how small the information may seem, it could be crucial to our investigation.
Detective Sergeant Stuart Macquiban from Central Manchester division said: “This was a shocking attack which took place in broad daylight, in a busy area, subjecting our victims to serious injuries, but also placing members of the public at risk of harm.
“Fortunately, our victims injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing, but a violent incident of this nature could very well have had a different, tragic, outcome.
“Whilst we have a man in custody, our investigation remains ongoing, and I would urge anyone who has information comes forward and reports this to us.”
