17 year-old Academy Scholar, Che-Daniel Gardner has signed his first professional contract with Stockport County, keeping him at Edgeley Park until 2027.

Having impressed with his performances for Dave Challinor’s side in pre-season, the exciting young winger has since been part of the first-team squad at Carrington, making his County debut as a substitute in our opening day victory over Cambridge United in League One.

Che, the son of former Bolton Wanderers winger Ricardo Gardner, has gone on to make three further first-team appearances so far this season, including starts against Blackburn Rovers and Tranmere Rovers in cup competition, as well as featuring regularly for our U21s side.

He becomes the second Academy Scholar to sign a pro-contract with the Club this week, following the news that goalkeeper Cian O’Shea has also signed a deal until 2027.
