Officers on patrol spotted a suspect vehicle on Hollins Road when a short pursuit took place before a black BMW 1 series crashed on Birchenlea Street.
During a search of the car, officers also recovered a sword.
Two men tried to flee the scene but were quickly arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and possession of an offensive weapon.
