The Transport Secretary Grant Schapps has said this morning that he is planning on stripping Northern Rail of its franchise.
Schapps said that he will have the franchise removed because the levels of service they offer is “unacceptable.”
He told BBC Breakfast that it was completely unacceptable to have trains that don’t run to routine….”I will bring that situation to an end.”
He also admitted on BBC Breakfast that the privatised rail system in this country has failed
