Thousands of people have joined the protests in Westminster including farmers and opposition parties, calling on the Government to scrap its changes to agricultural inheritance tax

Farmers say that the policy shift could devastate small farms and the future of UK food production.

Leader of the opposition Kemi Badenoch has vowed to reverse Labour’s controversial inheritance tax changes for farmers at ‘the very first opportunity’.

While Jeremy Clarkson told the assembled media that Rachel Reeves has used a “blunderbuss” to hit farmers

In defence the Labour Party says that the tax changes introduced in the budget will not affect the majority of farmers and estates up to the value of £3m could still be passed on by a couple completely free of inheritance tax

Speaking to the BBC however the Environment Secretary said that “It’s only right that we’ve had to ask the wealthiest landowners and the biggest farms to pay their fair share”
