A GMP Officer was found in a car with a third party and cannabis a misconduct hearing has heard
Former PC Jahid Jali resigned from the force last November just a fortnight after being found by patrolling officers within a vehicle in the company of a 3rd party and then observed to move an object, subsequently identified as cannabis, into the passenger door pocket.
Both Jalil and the 3rd party were arrested and while the third party was subsequently cautioned for possession, a blood test found traces of cannabis in Jalil’s bloodstream
In a ruling the GMP Chief Constable said
I have assessed the seriousness of the conduct. I consider that Mr Jalil’s
culpability must be regarded as high. Iam presented with incontrovertible
evidence ot the unlawtul use and possession ot a controlled drug namely,
cannabis. His actions were deliberate and carried out in thefull knowledge
that his conduct was patently unlawful.
”The public and GMP are well served by the departure of this man.”
