Manchester’s only city centre carvery SECONDS is BACK at Freight Island and will be launching on Sunday, 1st September.
A Modern Take on an old favourite.
At the heart of Seconds is a commitment to massive portions of quality food. All of their prime meats are locally sourced and come directly from a single British farm, Highlands of Astbury, based in the county of Cheshire. Diners can feast on a selection of succulent meats, including rare Topside of Beef, an incredible Porchetta and the juiciest Turkey Crown you have ever eaten. For the non meat eaters out there there is an option for a very special Mushroom Wellington.
Unlimited Trimmings and Bottomless Bits
Alongside all of this Seconds also offers unlimited access to all the trimmings. You can enjoy Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, buttery mash, greens, honey-glazed carrots, petit pois, and a signature 48-hour gravy until your heart is content… and don’t forget our favourite, the never ending supply of CHEESE SAUCE. As if this wasn’t enough this time round there will be a brand new BOTTOMLESS DESSERT. Sounds good right?

Book a slot to visit the chefs and choose your seat when you arrive. You can choose to sit in the hustle and bustle of the Platform listening to Manchester’s favourite foodie Matty White spinning his best Sunday tunes or take your plate and enjoy your meal wherever you fancy. Outside on the terrace, a cosy corner in the Tap Room or a spot in front of the giant Sports Bar screen it’s your choice.
The carvery is available in three sizes to cater to all appetites: £11 for Kids (small plate) with a choice of one meat, £18 for Adults (regular plate) with a choice of two meats, and £21 for XXL (massive plate – yes please) where you can have all three.
Sides are king.
For those looking to add more to their plate, Seconds has a sides menu worth booking for including the citiesbiggest and best GIANT honey-mustard pigs in blankets, some proper pork, sage and onion stuffing and a gooeybowl of Cauli Cheese . All available for an extra £4 each. Sharing is caring.

Sundays at Freight Island are transformed into a festival of flavours and sounds, with the North’s best DJ’s, the worlds biggest sporting events on a giant screen including all the Premier League fixtures, all sorts of food from over 10 different food vendors, a dedicated Craft Beer Taproom and the Casa Pomelo Tequila bar. It’s the perfect spot to end your weekend with a drink and a full belly.
