The globally renowned Texan conference and festival SXSW are coming to London for the first time ever this year and are planning a Roadshow around the UK to kick it off – stopping off in Manchester next Wednesday, 9th April.

The premier event for the convergence of tech, music, film, TV, arts and innovation is launching a Roadshow in partnership with BIMM University and Digital Catapult.

Manchester is one of these free events that will celebrate local innovation and creativity in Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester, Gateshead and Belfast, in the lead up to the inaugural European edition of SXSW London in June.

The day is split into two parts, and tickets to both are completely free – just simply need to register on Eventbrite.

This event will dive into the latest trends and breakthroughs at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and entrepreneurship — while gaining the inspiration and connections to take your career to the next level.

In the evening, a SXSW curated showcase will take place at the iconic Night & Day Café. The eclectic lineup reflects Manchester’s rich and diverse creative scene. First up, NØELLE – the Welsh-Ukrainian artist with her immersive hyperpop sound. Followed by indie-folk group – The Memory Club, rising stars in the indie-rock scene – Malcom, and genre-bending artist and producer – July 7. There’s one more surprise act to be revealed too.
