Kier Starmer thinks that globalization has failed in the current context and that we need to go further and faster in supporting British industry and the British economy

As the fallout from President Trump’s Tariff announcement last week,The Prime Minister Starmer is vowing to “move further and faster to combat the change in the world trading climate

Writing in the Sunday Telegraph Starmer said

The “world as we knew it has gone” and said Britain “must rise to meet the moment.” In the coming days, he said, “we will turbocharge plans that will improve our domestic competitiveness,” and “use industrial policy to help shelter British business from the storm.”

Expected announcements this week will be aimed at the car industry which faces 25 per cent tariffs and will expect t to see an easing of the regulations surrounding the introduction of electric vehicles
