Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), the leading global professional services firm, has been announced as the latest patron donor to Empower Youth Zones, supporting the charity’s new site, Salford Youth Zone (SYZ), which is set to open in summer 2025.

As part of its commitment, A&M will donate £100,000 over four years to help fund the development of SYZ, supporting its facilities and programmes. The A&M partnership contributes to Empower’s growing donor network and marks a significant step forward in providing vital opportunities and support for young people in Greater Manchester communities.
A&M offers deal advisory, tax and business improvement services and established its Manchester office in 2018. Since then, it has expanded its Manchester office’s headcount significantly, strengthening its role as a key player in the city’s professional services sector.
In September 2024 A&M also relocated to a new office in the city at the Lincoln building, which was opened by Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham. The Empower Youth Zone patronage is an extension of the support A&M provides to communities across the region. A&M plans to work with the Youth Zone to promote employability experiences to support young people with developing skills and helping to connect them with future opportunities in the Manchester region.
SYZ will open this summer, situated adjacent to Belverdere Rd and Broadwalk in Pendleton. It will be the latest Empower Youth Zone in Greater Manchester, following the success of HideOut in Gorton which was launched in 2020. The Youth Zone will provide vital support to thousands of young people across Salford.
Adam Farricker, CEO of Empower Youth Zones added: “Alvarez & Marsal’s commitment will bring vital support to help transform young people’s lives across Salford and beyond. The firm is firmly embedded in Manchester and the team’s support will help us give young people a safe place to learn and develop outside of the classroom. As we move closer to the opening of Salford Youth Zone, it’s fantastic to get more businesses from the Manchester area on board, supporting our vision.”
Jonathan Boyers at Alvarez & Marsal, added: “We are committed to making a meaningful impact on the communities that we operate in. We know firsthand the potential of the city, so we’re proud to be supporting young people in the region. We are excited to see the difference that Salford Youth Zone will make to the community once open this summer and we will continue to explore additional ways that we can support the Youth Zone’s team and members.”
