Salford City Council has received a gift of 200 rugs to help those most in need.
The brand-new rugs have been donated to help people who are trying to move forwards with their lives and have moved into temporary housing in the city. Rugs
The donation was made after Quest Training Limited made contact with Salford’s City Mayor Paul Dennett with the generous offer.
Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said: “We have people moving into temporary accommodation in the city who may have been homeless, fleeing domestic abuse or ex-offenders trying to put their lives back on the right track.
“The rugs, which are of great quality, will make accommodation much more homely and also warmer – now we are in the depths of winter.
“A huge thank you goes to Quest Training for providing these rugs, they will certainly go to great use – it is such a generous donation that will make such a difference people and families that will benefit from them.
Jane Whittaker from Quest Training Limited said: “It is fantastic to be able to help The Greater Manchester Community Accommodation Service and give these brand new rugs a loving home. We work predominantly with ex- offenders, ex military and the homeless, providing a full career transition program, helping those in need, back into society. Simple home comforts like rugs are small pieces in the jigsaw that help people move on and feel comfortable in their new surroundings. So we are very happy to provide the rugs with the help of The Flair Foundation and their donation.”
