Royal Mail has announced this morning that it is planning to make 6000 people redundant as it announced a trading loss for the year
It has reported operating loss of £219 million (2021-22: £235 million profit), which includes around £70 million of direct negative impacts from 3 days of industrial action
In the statement Royal Mail says that it will be starting the process of consulting on rightsizing the business in response to the impact of industrial action, delays in delivering agreed productivity improvements and lower parcel volumes
