HC-One’s Chorlton Place Care Home, in Chorlton, Manchester, was visited on Thursday, November 21, 2024, by Member of Parliament for Manchester Rusholme, Afzal Khan.
The visit took place during UK Parliament Week, which takes place from November 18 to 24, 2024. UK Parliament Week is an annual event which aims to spread the word about what Parliament is and the roles of local dignitaries, what Parliament and local dignitaries do, and how individuals can get involved, act and make an impact on the issues they care about.
Afzal Khan received a tour around the 48-bedded residential and nursing care home, including the hair salon, dining room, lounge, en-suite bedrooms and gardens. The MP for Manchester Rusholme expressed his appreciation for the multi-diverse culture in the care home.
Afzal stated that he would like to visit the home to attend future events, and he would be happy to work with the home in building relationships with the community.
In addition to welcoming their politician, Chorlton Place residents and colleagues have enjoyed a variety of fun-filled activities for UK Parliament Week.
Activities included an online Q&A session, quizzes and lively debates as well as debating issues and holding votes. Baking and crafting took place whilst petitions were created, and the care home also held themed assemblies and council elections.
