The iconic Kimpton Clocktower Hotel’s bar and restaurant, Refuge is launching an Afternoon Tea experience, curated in partnership with local tea connoisseurs Tea from the Manor.

Open to both Mancunians and those visiting the city from Friday 21st February, and available every Friday and Saturday, between 12pm and 3:30pm, the new afternoon tea experience will offer guests a selection of loose leaf tea from Tea from the Manor. Tea lovers can expect classics such as Earl Grey and Peppermint Black, as well as unique flavours including premium white tea Silver Needle and spiced rum and cocoa blend Rum Arabica.

Refuge has also received its own blend of tea by the experts. The Refuge blend, only available as part of the new experience, is a vibrant herbal infusion blending rosehip, hibiscus, peppermint, blackcurrant, and strawberry leaves for a refreshing and fruity escape.

Guests can expect afternoon classics with a Refuge twist with every booking – all curated by Refuge’s chefs. Each experience will come with an exquisite spread of sweet and savoury goodness, made fresh and using local ingredients, in true Refuge fashion. Guests can indulge in polished classics such as truffled egg mayonnaise finger sandwiches and smoked salmon & pickled cucumber brioche, and sweet treats such as glazed lemon meringue pie and a selection of scones, of course!

Hosted in the breathtaking Winter Garden at the heart of Refuge and Kimpton Clocktower, with the option for Champagne to be added as well, the experience is perfect for any occasion and is tipped to quickly become one of the best in the city.

David Lockhart, General Manager of Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, said: “A lot of work and passion has gone into the Afternoon Tea experience, and we’re proud and excited to finally be opening bookings. We love bringing unique luxury experiences to our guests – whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or just a treat after a day of shopping.”

The Traditional afternoon tea is priced at £35 pp, while the Champagne option is £49 pp.

“Come and try the new Refuge Afternoon Tea – we cannot wait to hear what Manchester thinks about the spread we’ve prepared,” added Lockhart.

Guests can book via OpenTable, tables up to six people.
