Llechwedd Glamping Tents (open year round)

Set amidst the dramatic Moelwynion mountains, Llechwedd Glamping provides a cosy base in the Welsh wilderness for families and adventurers alike. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of the historic slate quarries and the surrounding mountains while being just steps away from adrenaline-pumping activities at Zip World.

Each tent, which sleeps either 4 or 5 people, are dog-friendly and have private bathrooms, kitchen facilities (microwave, fridge, freezer, sink) wood-burning stoves, and even BBQs and pizza kits for a fun, rustic night in. WiFi is available in every tent. Prices start from £150 per night.

Barlywdd Shepherds Huts (March-October)
For those seeking a wildly romantic, off-grid escape, Barlywdd Glamping offers cosy shepherd’s huts, ideal for two (and a dog).

These charming hideaways provide the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts, wild swimmers, and nature lovers. Each hut is equipped with a wood burner, and has breathtaking views over the quarry and moorlands. Relax in the wilderness sauna after a long hike before getting cosy in the hut. From £120 per night, guests can enjoy a peaceful, off-grid experience with modern comforts..

Re-launching on April 7th, 2025 following an extensive refurbishment, Plas Weunydd Hotel will offer a comfortable, friendly, four-star experience combining contemporary vibes with a historic building on the doorstep of Eryri National Park. The hotel will combine comfort with local heritage, featuring artwork from  artists connected to the mine and decor that reflects the area’s mining history. Families, couples, and solo travellers will feel at home with a variety of rooms, including pet-friendly spaces, accessible rooms and family suites. Amenities include a garden, terrace, restaurant, bar and 24-hour front desk service. The hotel’s central location in Blaenau Ffestiniog offers easy access to nearby landmarks like Portmeirion, Snowdon, and the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
