The latest plans for a major road improvement scheme in Carrington will go on display at four consultation events coming up.

Residents and businesspeople are invited to find out more about Carrington Relief Road, ask questions, and offer comments via paper or online questionnaire, at drop-in sessions in Sale and Partington.

Feedback will be used to help shape the project, which will include a purpose-built 2.7mile road between A6144 Manchester Road in the west and an upgraded junction at Banky Lane/Carrington Spur in the east.

The road will take traffic including lorries away from the A6144 through Carrington village and to provide better links with the wider area. There will also be new cycleways and footways, community facilities and green spaces.

The events are:

  • Wednesday 29 January, 10am-2pm, Ashton-Upon-Mersey Sports Club, Banky Lane, Sale M33 5SL.
  • Thursday 30 January, 2pm-7:30pm, Ashton-Upon-Mersey Sports Club, Banky Lane, Sale M33 5SL.
  • Tuesday 4 February, 3:30pm-7:30pm, The Fuse, Warburton Lane, Partington M31 4BU.
  • Wednesday 5 February, 2pm-6pm, The Fuse, Warburton Lane, Partington M31 4BU.

Information on display will be the same each time, so there is no need to attend more than one. Plans are available to view at Coppice Library and Partington Library, and online.

Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Highways, Environmental and Traded Services, said:

“As part of the planning process, we would like to gather as many views as possible on the proposed scheme. A six-week-long public consultation on the design so far has begun. This is a great opportunity to help shape the scheme as it moves forward.”
