Plans have been revealed for 413 co-living studios as part of the Ordsall Waterfront district on the under-utilised site of a former dyeworks.

The development known as Worrall Street will be comprised of homes that will be ideal for young professionals working in Salford or MediaCityUK or Manchester city centre who are looking for flexible and short-term tenancies and readymade community says the developers Re:Shape

Their plans, they say, will transform a currently under-utilised brownfield site by delivering much needed affordable homes and creating a thriving new community.

The scheme is designed by Buttress Architects and will provide 80 homes available at 20% discounted market rent.

The proposal will bring a significant contribution to the up-and-coming Ordsall Riverside district, located on former industrial land along the banks of the River Irwell.

Once complete, residents will have direct access to a riverside walkway, spanning the length of the northern bank of the River Irwell from the city centre to Salford Quays.

Worrall Street will enable the creation of a vibrant and diverse new residential community, reinforcing this part of the city as one for the near future, with a growing residential population and nearby tourism destinations.

Planning permission is set to be applied for in September
