Plans for an innovative heat network in Trafford have been boosted by a £5.7m funding package from the Government.
The Trafford Civic Quarter district heat network will use the heat generated from the sewers beneath our feet to create a low carbon heat network for the area which includes Trafford Town Hall, Trafford College, Stretford High School, and considerable planned new development.
The funding comes from the Government’s Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF) which aims to develop new and existing low carbon heat networks. Heat networks form an important part of the government’s plan to reduce carbon and cut heating bills for customers.
