Twenty-six colleagues from a local NHS trust completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, raising £9,500 for Pennine Care Charity.
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust delivers mental health, learning disability and autism services across five boroughs of Greater Manchester.
It launched Pennine Care Charity last year, to further support and fund important projects and services for communities, patients and colleagues that are in addition to those paid for by the NHS.
This includes supporting community-based groups to help people’s mental health, improvements to facilities, services and equipment that are used by patients and their families. It also funds staff wellbeing projects, so colleagues can provide care for patients.
Colleagues from across Pennine Care — including the young people’s specialist support team — scaled Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, in a 24-mile trek through the Yorkshire Dales to support the charity.
The funds raised will directly support local services, such as resources and activities for young people and their families who use the specialist support team.
Wes Partington, charity director, added: “I need to offer a heartfelt thank you to all our colleagues and supporters who took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Their dedication, teamwork, and commitment have helped the charity raise a substantial amount, which will directly benefit our patients and local communities.
This incredible achievement is a true reflection of their hard work, and its impact will extend far beyond the peaks they have now conquered.”
