A 60 year old man has died after being hit by a van in Sale yesterday evening
Police say that initial enquiries suggest a vehicle was travelling along Manor Avenue in the direction of Carrington Lane before the vehicle collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road which caused the pedestrian
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
Detective Constable Thomas Johnson from our Serious Collison Investigation Unit, said: “Firstly our thoughts are with the loved ones who have lost a family member and friend in tragic circumstances. They are currently being supported by specialist officers at this time.
“Whilst we continue to investigate, we are urging anyone who has further information that could help us to contact us directly as soon as possible and we are keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.”
