Oldham MP Jim McMahon has returned to Labour’s Shadow team
The MP will rejoin Kier Starmer’s front bench as Shadow Minister for English Devolution and Local Government and will be working closely with his Greater Manchester colleague Angela Rayner
In September McMahon stepped down as shadow environment secretary for health reasons, having held the role since November 2021.
McMahon is replacing Sarah Owen as shadow local government minister and Paula Barker as shadow devolution minister. Both quit so that they could support the SNP in a vote calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
