People from far and wide are invited to ‘An Apple Gathering’ – NOMA’s first ever Apple themed festival, on Saturday 7th September at Sadler’s Yard, from 12pm to 9pm – an ode to the growing neighbourhood’s orchard roots.

NOMA’s growing neighbourhood may be a bustling hub today, but its original site was home to a peaceful apple orchard. The Apple Gathering Festival pays homage to the legend behind NOMA’s green roots, where the apple never falls far from the tree.

Attendees are encouraged to sip the nation’s finest cider as well as make their own, enjoy folk-fuelled live music, feast on apple-based delicacies, unravel the spellbinding history of the NOMA neighbourhood, and ripen their knowledge on the folklore behind apples.

With hands-on workshops in apple growing and preparation, as well as fruit themed activities to mark the occasion, this free-to-attend event brings fruitful fun to Manchester City Centre as the seasons change.

NOMA’s very own hobby-house, Altogether Otherwise, is also getting involved with woodcraft, cooking, gardening, and pottery workshops at the festival.

Speaking on the event, Dominique Murray, Associate Marketing Director at NOMA, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity to bring our growing neighbourhood together to celebrate our roots as a pre-industrial orchard, and also marks the passing of the season from summer to autumn.

“Following on from the launch of Altogether Otherwise – our new ‘hobby house’ this year, the Apple Gathering Festival promises to be another original, fun-filled, inclusive event for all to enjoy.”
