No. 1 New York Times bestseller and TikTok sensation, Kathleen Glasgow will be making a whistle-stop visit to the UK with a visit to Stockport this week to promote her new book, The Glass Girl.

A global sensation with 2 million copies of her last novel (Girl in Pieces) sold to date, Kathleen’s novels have tapped into the teenage zeitgeist, with her characters speaking to young women’s experience in particular.

The Glass Girl is particularly pertinent as it has been written from Kathleen’s personal experience of alcohol abuse – she has been a recovering alcoholic since the age of 17 – and now with a teenage daughter of her own, she doesn’t shy from extolling the grim realities of teenage drinking, while also exploring the ‘why’.

Kathleen will be at Simply Books in Stockport for an evening Q&A and book signing on the 10th October .

Teenage drinking continues to be a big issue – recent statistics reveal that a third of 11-year-olds in the UK and half of all 13-year-olds have drunk alcohol & the UK is the worst for teen alcohol consumption out of 44 countries the UN looked at. Girls were found to be more likely than boys to be drinking and getting drunk aged 15 in England, Wales and Scotland. Alcohol has been normalised but for young women especially it can be incredibly dangerous.
