A nine year old girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, that are believed to be life-changing after being attacked by a dog in the Brooklands area of South Manchester last night

The attack happened around 6.45 on the playing fields running alongside Ashstead Road and Croft Road

It’s believed that a large, black dog approached the young girl and attacked her.

She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, that are believed to be life-changing.

Police are appealing to the public for information to assist with enquiries.

“Were you in the area yesterday evening and perhaps saw the incident, or have you seen a large black dog in the area? We are also keen to identify the owner of the dog, if you have any information, please come forward.”

Additional officers have been deployed to the area to conduct searches and speak with the community.
