A stunning mural has beautifully transformed the exterior of Rochdale Borough Libraries Balderstone branch, forming part of a project to create a vibrant library garden for community use.

Created by local mural artist Jamie Buckley, the wonderful design was completed in just four days and has already wowed library customers and people from across the local community.

Working with Rochdale Boroughwide Housing and Greater Manchester Combined Authority Age Friendly Project, who funded the project, the mural provides a colourful backdrop to a shared area for contemplation, reading and relaxing. A new bench for the garden was also sourced as part of the project.

The space is at the heart of the library’s garden club, where people boost their wellbeing by cultivating and growing plants and keep the area clean and tidy
