Manchester’s hospitality scene is about to turn up the heat as OCASA, a high-energy Mexican-inspired restaurant and bar, opens its doors this Easter Bank Holiday (good Friday 18 March) in the heart of Spinningfields, Manchester.
Located on The Avenue, across from Dear Sailor, this stunning new destination on the site of former location ‘Sunset’ takes inspiration from the shores of Tulum and the bustling street food scene of Mexico City where bold flavours, expertly crafted cocktails, and energetic music and entertainment come together for an unforgettable experience.
Flame-Grilled Feasts & Elevated Mexican Small plates and Sharers
At the helm of OCASA’s kitchen is Executive Chef Lucie Sainerova, formerly of the prestigious Novikov International. With a deep passion for refined yet soulful cuisine, Sainerova has created a menu that reimagines Mexican street food—keeping its authentic roots while adding a contemporary twist.
Diners can expect robata-grilled yakitori-style taco skewers (Yaki Takos), vibrant bowls, and shareable plates perfect for feasting with friends. Whether it’s OCASA’s signature table-side guacamole, BBQ tacos fresh off the grill, or indulgent Sunday feasting menus, the experience is designed to be both authentic and innovative.
Lucie said, “We’re taking familiar flavours and elevating them in ways that surprise and excite. From our Dragon Salt Wagyu Tacos to the Lobster Thermidor Nachos, every dish tells a story. This is Mexican food like you’ve never seen before.”
A Show-Stopping Sun Terrace & High-Energy Atmosphere
Designed by BAPPT, OCASA’s interiors blend rustic warmth with a hint of coastal Mexico—think textured rock walls, rich terracotta hues, and jade green accents. By day, the space is bright and relaxed, perfect for laid-back brunches, sunlit lunches and golden-hour margaritas. By night, the energy shifts, transforming into a vibrant social hub with DJs, live music, and late-night celebrations.
The 80-seat terrace is set to become one of Manchester’s most sought-after outdoor spaces, complete with two exclusive “Bed Booths” for private group dining. Expect ice- cold frozen margaritas, tableside cooking, and an atmosphere buzzing with the energy of Tulum beach.
More Than Margaritas: Manchester’s Ultimate Tequila Destination
In collaboration with Casamigos and Don Julio – At its core, OCASA is a tequila lover’s paradise. With one of the UK’s most extensive collections of premium agave spirits, the bar program is designed to highlight tequila’s depth and complexity — showcasing rare small-batch bottles alongside a creative cocktail list.
Taco Tuesdays (£6 specialty tacos & £6 margaritas), live mariachi bands, Latin DJs Sunday feasts and more are all planned.
