Marks & Spencer is the latest retailer to reduce prices announcing this morning that it reduced or frozen the price of more than 200 food products

The retailer  is cutting the price on some of its most popular cupboard staples to support its family customers, including products such as M&S Select Farms DNA traceable Beef Mince, Avocados, Greek style yoghurt and Ciabatta rolls. These are some of M&S’ most popular lines, with over 400,000 Avocado packs and 140,000 Greek Style Yogurt pots sold by M&S in the last four weeks.

Earlier Morrisons announced that it was cutting the prices of 47 products by an average of over 25%

The products subject to the latest price cuts included beef mince, ham, tomatoes, spinach and wholemeal pittas and it said that the pledge to hold the new prices for at least eight weeks.
